GALWAY AUDIENCES may just catch a glimpse of some acting stars of the future this Sunday, when the students of Core Theatre College present a public showcase of their work at Druid Lane Theatre.

A WORKSHOP exploring the Chekhov and Lecoq acting techniques will take place from Monday April 25 to Friday 29 from 10am to 5pm.

CORE THEATRE College is launching its workshop programme for this year. Workshops will run from March to May before auditions start for the main course in September.

This year, Galway is going to get its first professional part-time theatre school. Amazingly, Galway does not have such a school despite its international theatrical reputation. Core Theatre College offers a serious 10-week foundation course for actors with 20 hours training per week in core theatre subjects such as voice, movement and acting technique. There will also be masterclasses in skills like Commedia Dell’Arte, mask work, singing, directing and stage combat.
